Government has issued NRI admission policy for private and deemed university admission. All need to read and follow

NRI Policy being followed by the MoHFW/ MCC/DGHS
The following points are been followed By MoHFW/MCC/DGHS with regards to
eligibility for NRI candidates including OCI and PIO for the Deemed universities for
the academic year 2017-18:-
1. NRI Candidates (Including OCI and PIO) are eligible for NRI Quota only and Indian
Nationals will be eligible for Management seats only.
2. As Per Inamdar case of Hon Supreme Court Only Bonafide NRI will be eligible for
NRI Quota seats. No NRI Sponsored candidates will be eligible.
3. NRI Seats remaining vacant after last round of DGHS will be converted to
management seats during Mop up round conducted by Deemed Universities and the
fees charged will be that of management seats.
Above 3 points were approved after due consultations with all Stakeholders including
Deemed University Representatives since the fee structure and policies are governed
by UGC and Ministry of HRD for deemed universities

Medical college Gujarat Admission announcement - 2011-12

There are 14 medical colleges in Gujarat. Out of them, four are private medical college and one Deemed University affiliate college. All other are government medical college.

1.       The Smt Bikhiben K Shah Medical Institution and Research center is affiliated Sumandeep Vidyapeeth, a deemed University. The college is stated in 2003 and yearly input for admission is 150 seats. The admission criterion for this college is different from all other colleges. The student has to appear AICET 2011 for this university. The form for AICET for Sumandeep Vidyapeeth is available from university, it will be available from 6-4-2011. The last date for submission of duly filled form is 15-5-2011 and last date with late fees is 20-5-2011. So do hurry before late. The entrance exam date is 28-5-2011 Sunday and exam centers are Vadodara, Mumbai and New Delhi.

The collage has NRI / Foreign Student quota 10% Management and 15% NRI/Foreign students seats. The last year NRI students was 18000 USA $ per year plus living expenses.  The college is recognized by MCI since last four years. There are 93 postgraduate courses in the college since last three years.

2.       Pramukh Swami Medical college, Karamsad

This college is affiliated with Saradar Patel University, Vallabh Vidyalay Dist Anand. This is an oldest private medical college in state Gujarat. They have yearly input for admission is 100 seats. The admission procedure for this college is like government medical college. They have 25% quota with them. Out of these 15% is NRI (Non-residential Indian quota) and 10% is management quota. The admission in NRI quota is usually announced on web page and leading newspaper of India. The fee for this quota is also announced on that time. The last year NRI quota fee was 20000 USA $ per year plus living expenses. The management quota is usually filled by special category of economically weak family students with scholarship scheme. The students must belong to state Gujarat and the family income should not more than 2 lack per year. This is really good scheme for middle class family who want to make their child doctor in high fees era.

3.       C. U. Shah Medical College, Surendarnagar

This is the one more the private medical college, affiliated with Saurastra University, Rajkot. The college is running since 2002. The annual intake of college is 100 seats. This college also has almost like P S Medical College admission process. The management quota of last year was given to government admission committee. Just NRI quota was filled by college management. The last year NRI quota fees was 15000 USA $ per year plus living expenses. The college is recognized by MCI since last four years.

4.       Gujarat Adani Institute of Medical Sciences (GAIMS), Bhuj

This is the new private medical college started two years back with public private model in state Gujarat. They have 150 students of annual intake. Lat year they have admitted second batch in college. This year 2011-12, the third batch will get admission. The collage management is hopeful to  get permission.

5.       K.J. Mehta General Hospital & College of Medical Sciences, Amargardh Dist Bhavnagar

This is also new private medical college which was started in 2009. It is run by trust. The college is affiliated with Bhavnagar University. They have annual intake of 150 seats. Lat year they have not received permission for admission and as per latest information this year also they are going to get seats.

6.       Government medical colleges

7.       New upcoming Medical colleges

Five new possible medical colleges are upcoming in Gujarat. Still there is no permission for admission. But Government is hopeful for same.
