Medical writing

Medical writing is a new fast developing discipline in world, which involves writing on topics useful for the medical fraternity, drug development for companies, informative materials for general publics and student synopsis and thesis. The role of medical writer is different in different industry like in the pharmaceutical industry, medical writers work in two broad areas: regulatory writing and marketing material writing; for magazine and web content medical writers write on informative issues for making awareness to general public and new filed the synopsis and thesis write up for medical students, post graduate medical students, researchers in medical science and searching topics for research.

Regulatory writing or industry is an integral part of drug development and the approval process. It covers writing on:

Protocols
Investigator’s brochures
Interim and final clinical study reports
Periodic safety update reports
Serious adverse event reporting
Investigational new drug applications
Common technical documents
Food and Drug Administration (FDA) briefing documents
Integrated summaries of efficacy and safety, manuscripts
Abstracts
Posters
Product labeling using terminologies standardized by regulatory and international agencies
And many more………

The quality of documents submitted for regulatory approval plays a significant role in the success or failure of new products, inventions and devices.

In marketing area, the medical writers make documents that advertise drugs and have complete explanations on the benefits to physicians, pharmacists and consumers. A lot of literature needs to be developed to support the product and issues unique to the company keeping in mind the local and international regulatory guidelines. There is a growing need for health care information and appropriate compilation of product literature is expected to result in an increased consumer interest in the brand as well as the organization.

In magazine and development of informative material is also growing market for medical writers. Here the medical writers develop the content on simple and message transmitting way. It is like FAQ (frequently ask questions and answer). It is ongoing process for government agencies and information broadcasting agencies. There lots of health related magazines and television media are coming in india and world. They need the stories and news for their readers and viewers. Here the medical writer should creative and innovative for development of content.

The number of researchers and medical students are increased in last few years. Also the regulator bodies like MCI in India and other countries are demanding research from their students and academicians. In this scenario the students and researchers are in search of good research topics and even synopsis for research project. In this area the medical writer can help the researchers to find topics, write synopsis for proposal to ethics committee, budget for project, results and report write up. Even now day students can send their data for statistical analysis and interpretation and thesis write up.

Why Outsourcing?

Pharmaceutical companies are now opting to outsource in order to meet deadlines, maintain high quality and/ or reduce the cost. Outsourcing to companies that have staff with medical background and technical knowledge of the regulations increases the speed of work. The demand for high quality documents is also increasing as the difference between poor-quality and high-quality medical writing can mean the difference between a speedy drug submission and approval, and a rejection.

More companies are opting to outsource medical writing so that they can obtain quality services in a cost effective manner.

High mobilization rate in the pharmaceutical industry poses a big challenge to the development and maintenance of a medical writing department in huge pharmaceutical companies. Further, the bulk of medical writing tends to be piled towards the beginning or the end of the clinical studies, whereas in between medical writing department tends to have idle staff waiting for work. Company-employed medical writers have a propensity to share insular views that companies have regarding their own products. On the other hand, by outsourcing, these companies get an added advantage of the range of experience and unbiased attitude that freelance writers can provide. We are providing this quality write up for pharmaceutical companies also.

In media and broadcasting side also the similar issue, they can afford the full time staff for specially medical and health field. They are getting stories from the outsource companies. As we are working and providing quality medical write up to our clients. We have full team who can write latest updated stories for media and magazine for India, South Asia and World.

For students research and postgraduate studies we are specially master for selection of topics, synopsis write up, protocol; write up, statistical analysis, interpretation and thesis write up. Any research student, PhD students, Postgraduate medical students or medical student can avail our services.

No PG Medical Entrance test for 2012

Today Government of India has decided not to hold the common entrance test for postgraduate medical courses for year 2012, as it was proposed earlier, the maine reason were the lack of resources and expertise needed for conducting such a huge exercise countrywide.

The National Eligibility Entrance Test will be held only in 2013. “In view of the lack of resources, we have decided that the test will be held in 2013, and the National Board for Examination will be roped in to conduct the test. It will strengthen its own resources and infrastructure. Now it does not have the capability for holding the exam,” Health Secretary P.K. Pradhan said.

The test was scheduled for January-February for admissions during 2012-2013
So all students start for various PG entrances for this year.

Postgraduate medical admission India 2016

Postgraduate medical admission India 2016

As we aware that the majority of medical graduates want to do
postgraduate degree, due to market demanding specialist than
generalist. The government of India failed to focus on MBBS degree
holders. They feel that the generalist MBBS have limited scope in
Indian health system. Specialist or postgraduate degree holders have
bright chance to get urban or metro-city life. They can do more
research work than MBBS level. They have better earning opportunity
than MBBS graduate. Community also gets now aware the difference
between specialist and MBBS doctors.
Looking to these many scopes and changing scenario, the Indian Medical
Graduates want to be specialists. But keep in mind, to become
specialist is not easy in country, because the medical graduate seats
in country are more than 70,000 and postgraduate seats are around
21 thousands only. So if you want to take admission in PG seats in
India, you need to compete with four students in general and for
selected branches you have very large competition.
There are more than 12 PG medical entrance test are conducted all over
India. More over for management quota admission all private medical
colleges have their own entrance test. So students are very busy with
entrance test search rather actual preparation. In this scenario
students have to vigilant in advance for the selection of branch and
college for post graduate course.
How to select the proper course for postgraduate admission?
The answer is very difficult and tough to get. There are lots of
factors which help to make decision for admission.
Subject selection – more than 25 MD (Doctor of Medicine) subjects and
more than 5 MS (Master of Surgery) subjects are for your selection.
The list is as below
MD - Post graduate medical Degree (Doctor of Medicine)

MS-ANATOMY (MD Anatomy)
MS-ENT
MS-GENERAL SURGERY
MS-OBSTETRICS & GYNAECOLOGY
MS-OPTHALMOLOGY
MS-ORTHOPAEDICS

In these big list, one has to little vigilant in selection of branch.
Frankly speaking all branches are extraordinary and have good scope.
The condition is that you have to excel the subject. India and world
are craving for good doctors.
First take decision, do you have surgical skills or not? This is very
important question you have to ask yourself. If you are good at
surgical skill and enjoying surgeries, than only select surgical
branch MS. Otherwise select MD branches which have lots of choices.

In top ranking branches, descending order (top in demand is first) are
as follow in surgical side
MS Orthopedics, MS (MD) Obstetrics & Gynecology, MS Ophthalmology, MS
General Surgery, MS Anatomy and MS ENT.

In MD branches the top ranking branches, descending order (top in
demand is first) are as follow
MD Radiology, MD Pediatrics, MD Medicine, MD Biochemistry, MD Skin
(Dermatology), MD Pathology, MD psychiatry, MD Geriatrics, MD
Community Medicine, MD Forensic Medicine, MD Anesthesia and other at
last priority.

Third issue is about merit admission or management quota admission. In
PG studies also the government and MCI has adopted merit base
admission and management quota. Each private college has 15%
management quota seats. These seats are filled with various criteria.
Some colleges are taking entrance test and some are purely based on
percentage of third MBBS. For merit base admission, you have to appear
in various entrance tests of various universities and state. There are
more than 25 entrance test conducted by various states and
universities till date. But recent news of MCI about NEET for PG
(National Eligibility and Entrance Test for PG) admission has raised
lots of questions for admission for year 2012. MCI is trying hard for the single entrance this year. It is said that 2016 MCI will conduct common entrance this year for all India.

So looking to all above issues, the post graduate medical admission is
not easy selection and admission procedure. The INFO MBBS team is
committed to help busy students. from September onward the
announcements of various entrance tests will start and students have
to start rush for searching web sites, online form availability and
other issue. Same time this is the peak time for reading also. So we
have started “PG medical study guideline services” for students. This
is unique type of service for students who want proper guidance for
selection of subject, selection of test, selection of college and
state. It will help to students to save time for searching,
availability of seats, missing last dates for entrance form fill up,
eligibility in test, NEET update, various counseling, update on
management quota admission in various state and many more. All these
services are on small token of fees. If you are interested
