Postgraduate medical admission India 2016

As we aware that the majority of medical graduates want to do
postgraduate degree, due to market demanding specialist than
generalist. The government of India failed to focus on MBBS degree
holders. They feel that the generalist MBBS have limited scope in
Indian health system. Specialist or postgraduate degree holders have
bright chance to get urban or metro-city life. They can do more
research work than MBBS level. They have better earning opportunity
than MBBS graduate. Community also gets now aware the difference
between specialist and MBBS doctors.
Looking to these many scopes and changing scenario, the Indian Medical
Graduates want to be specialists. But keep in mind, to become
specialist is not easy in country, because the medical graduate seats
in country are more than 70,000 and postgraduate seats are around
21 thousands only. So if you want to take admission in PG seats in
India, you need to compete with four students in general and for
selected branches you have very large competition.
There are more than 12 PG medical entrance test are conducted all over
India. More over for management quota admission all private medical
colleges have their own entrance test. So students are very busy with
entrance test search rather actual preparation. In this scenario
students have to vigilant in advance for the selection of branch and
college for post graduate course.

In these big list, one has to little vigilant in selection of branch.
Frankly speaking all branches are extraordinary and have good scope.
The condition is that you have to excel the subject. India and world
are craving for good doctors.
First take decision, do you have surgical skills or not? This is very
important question you have to ask yourself. If you are good at
surgical skill and enjoying surgeries, than only select surgical
branch MS. Otherwise select MD branches which have lots of choices.

In top ranking branches, descending order (top in demand is first) are
as follow in surgical side
MS Orthopedics, MS (MD) Obstetrics & Gynecology, MS Ophthalmology, MS
General Surgery, MS Anatomy and MS ENT.

In MD branches the top ranking branches, descending order (top in
demand is first) are as follow
MD Radiology, MD Pediatrics, MD Medicine, MD Biochemistry, MD Skin
(Dermatology), MD Pathology, MD psychiatry, MD Geriatrics, MD
Community Medicine, MD Forensic Medicine, MD Anesthesia and other at
last priority.

Third issue is about merit admission or management quota admission. In
PG studies also the government and MCI has adopted merit base
admission and management quota. Each private college has 15%
management quota seats. These seats are filled with various criteria.
Some colleges are taking entrance test and some are purely based on
percentage of third MBBS. For merit base admission, you have to appear
in various entrance tests of various universities and state. There are
more than 25 entrance test conducted by various states and
universities till date. But recent news of MCI about NEET for PG
(National Eligibility and Entrance Test for PG) admission has raised
lots of questions for admission for year 2012. MCI is trying hard for the single entrance this year. It is said that 2016 MCI will conduct common entrance this year for all India.

So looking to all above issues, the post graduate medical admission is
not easy selection and admission procedure. The INFO MBBS team is
committed to help busy students. from September onward the
announcements of various entrance tests will start and students have
