ELIGIBILITY FOR APPLICATION FOR NRI MBBS ADMISSION -
2.1 Candidates seeking admission in NRI / NRI sponsored quota should have passed the qualifying
examination from Gujarat or equivalent examination from elsewhere and should satisfy the
eligibility criteria prescribed by Medical Council of India, Government of Gujarat and
Saurashtra University.
2.2 The candidate should have completed 17 years of age by 31st December of the year of
admission to be eligible to be admitted in the current year. The following procedure will be
adopted in case of under age students:
a) Their names will be included in the current merit list.
b) If an under age candidate becomes eligible to be admitted as per his/her merit position,
he/she will be offered admission
c) He/she will be enrolled only after he/she completes the age of 17 years and the rules
governing granting of terms by Saurashtra University will be applicable in such cases.
2.3 Those applying for admission in NRI quota with qualifying examination from Boards other
than Gujarat Secondary Education Board, should obtain and submit the certificate of
equivalence from competent authority at the time of application, ascertaining that the
qualifying examination passed by him/her is equivalent to HSC of Gujarat Board. Such
candidates also should obtain eligibility certificate from Saurashtra University within the
stipulated date.
2.4 Incomplete applications and applications received after the stipulated last date will be
summarily rejected without any further communication.

PROCEDURE FOR APPLICATION:
3.1 Every application for admission should be filled in, only in the prescribed form available from
the Institution or downloaded from the website.
3.2 The application duly filled in by the candidate (in own hand-writing in block letter in
blue/black ink) should be accompanied by the prescribed fee (Form fee + Processing fee) to be
paid by cash / DD in favour of C.U. SHAH MEDICAL COLLEGE payable at Surendranagar and
clear photo-copies of supporting documents as under (non-returnable) and 5 recent passportsize
colour photographs.

3.4 The information about any modification of marks by the concerned Board should be
submitted along with supporting documents as an addendum, at least a day prior to the counseling
session.
3.5 The applications complete in all respects should reach the Institution on or before the
prescribed last date, as published in the advertisement. Applications received after the last date will
not be entertained.

The Annual tuition fees for NRI candidates seeking admission to MBBS course in the current
year is Rs 14.50 lakhs (Rs fourteen lakhs Fifty Thousand only) in corresponding foreign

For eligibility under this category the applicant must have obtained 50% marks in the last qualifying examination (10+2 or equivalent). For the purpose of percentage of marks in the qualifying examination candidates qualifying from Foreign Universities are required to submit the equivalent grading/percentage of marks from AIU (Association of Indian Universities, New Delhi), address of which is given subsequently.

In addition, all parents/guardians of NRI/NRI sponsored candidates are to produce a bank guarantee for tuition fees for the first year duration of course at the time of admission. In case bank guarantee cannot be produced at the time of admission, the admission will be provisional. The said bank guarantee will have to be produced within one month from the date of admission failing which admission will be cancelled.

NRI MBBS seats for PramukhSwami Medical College 2014-15

P S MEdical College, Karamsad Gujarat started the invitation to application for NRI MBBS seats admission for the year 2014-15.
Application to reach on or before the due date, 10th July 2014.
(Postal delay or loss of application form in post would be the sole responsibility of the Applicant)
Merit List will be put up on or after 15th July 2013, on the website.

Every application for admission shall be filled up in the prescribed form, accompanied by application fee if prescribed, and supporting documents etc., and submitted within the notified due date.
After the expiry of the last date of submitting application for admission, as soon as possible, the applications would be processed and a merit list prepared.
Note: Admission to NRI seat would be subject to rules framed by the Admission Committee for Professional Medical Educational Courses/ Govt. of Gujarat / MCI / Competent Authority.
The merit order will be first decided on the basis of aggregate marks in external examination in theory of the science subjects, i.e., Physics, Chemistry and Biology at HSCE or its equivalent examination.
The criteria for deciding merit order in case of students having equal merit marks shall be in the following sequence, namely:-
a. The candidate who has obtained higher marks in the theory subject of Biology in qualifying examination.
b. Higher marks obtained in English subject in qualifying examination.
c. Higher Marks Obtained in secondary school certificate examination (Standard 10), and
d. Date of Birth (Candidate who is older in age shall be given priority).
The provisional admission is also subject to confirmation of the eligibility and NRI status by the University / Committee appointed by the competent authority.

Admission on the Non-Resident Indian seats shall be given by the College on the basis of merit list of the candidates who have applied for admission in the following manner, namely:-
(i) The candidate who is Non-Resident Indian as also the candidate whose parents and in the absence of his/her parents, his/her legal guardian who is Non-Resident Indian, shall be offered the Non-Resident Indian;
(ii) And thereafter, the Non-Resident Indian seats, if remains vacant, shall be offered to the candidate who is dependant of the Non-Resident Indian;
(iii) The candidate whose guardian is Non-Resident Indian shall have to produce necessary proof to the satisfaction of the College establishing that in the absence of his/her parents, the concerned person has been legally appointed as his /her guardian; and ,
(iv) The candidate who is dependent of the Non-Resident Indian shall have to produce necessary proof in support thereof to the satisfaction of the College.

i. The attached application form must be filled in by the candidate in his/her own handwriting in BLOCK LETTERS, with Blue/Black ink.

Payment of Tuition Fees:
M.B.B.S. COURSE: Students admitted to the course shall pay non-refundable fees of US $100,000 OR Rs. 55 lakhs, for the entire course to be paid in a single installment or in a maximum of Five (5) equal installments in dollar / rupee subject to a minimum of Rs. 11 Lakhs per installment, whichever is higher in rupee value at the time of payment, within a period of 4 years

SMIMER 2015 NRI medical admission

SURAT MUNICIPAL INSTITUTE OF MEDICAL EDUCATION & RESEARCH - SMIMER 2015-16

Surat has two medical colleges, one government and one corporation medical college. The SMIMER is corporation run medical college. It has 75% goovernment quota nad 15% NRI and 10% management quota seats. The authority has advertized the 15% NRI admission in all newspaper. The admission forms are available online and in physical form from college.

The tuition fees for total duration of course (i.e. 09  terms)  will  be US  $ 1,00,000  (US  Dollars 
one lack  only)  as  per  the permission of competent authorities. 
The above fees shall be payable in five (05) equal instalments of US $ 20,000 (US Dollars
twenty thousand only) per year. First installment of tuition fee shall be paid at the time of
admission and thereafter every year in the month of July only.
Tuition fees should be paid in US Dollars only through the NRI account by Demand Draft/
Electronic Transfer in favour of “Commissioner, Surat Municipal Corporation” payable at
Surat, Gujarat. 

Eligibility will be subject to ‐ 
  The rules and regulations framed by the Admission Committee for the Professional
Medical Educational Courses/Government of Gujarat regarding admissions for the
academic year 2015.
  The Medical Council of India (MCI) norms

1.  a)  Non Resident Indian students/ students whose parents are Non‐ Resident
Indians or in absence of his parents, his legal guardians are Non‐Resident
Indians.
  b)  Students who are dependents of Non‐Resident Indians for the educational
purpose supported by the necessary proof.
  c)  The  candidate  who  is  dependent on  Non‐Resident  Indian  shall  have to
produce  necessary  proof  in  support thereof to the satisfaction of  the
concerned college or institution.
  d)  ‘Dependent of Non‐Resident Indian’, it would not be enough that a candidate
produces willingness of the sponsor to pay his/her fees for the course in
question. It would be necessary for the candidate to show in what manner
he/she claims to be dependent of the NRI.
  e)  A  candidate  would  have  to  produce  before  the  authority  materials
suggesting that in the past also for his/her education and other related
requirements, he/she was dependent on such sponsor and that the parents
do  not  have  economic  means  to  provide  for  necessary  fees  and  other
expenditure for the course in question.
2.  The student must have passed in the subjects of Physics, Chemistry, and Biology
and English individually and must   have obtained minimum of 50% marks taken
together in  Physics, Chemistry and Biology (in theory) at  the  qualifying
examination as prescribed by the MCI/VNSGU/Government of Gujarat.
3.  a)  The NRI student passing 12th
(10+2) with Physics, Chemistry, Biology &
English must have Equivalent Certificate from the Association of Indian
Universities.
  b)  In case of (1) ‘b’ category (dependent) he/she must have passed qualifying
examination as under: Candidate  must  have  obtained  a  minimum  of 
50%  marks  in  Physics,  Chemistry,  Biology  and  any  other  elective
subjects with English in the qualifying examination of the respective
board as prescribed by MCI“.

(Rs. twenty thousand only) as application and processing fee in cash/demand draft

Application will be considered only if the following photocopies attached are duly
attested.

1.  School Leaving Certificate of student establishing that the student has completed
17 years as on 31‐12‐2015 (i.e. those who are born before 01.01.1998).
2.  HSCE or equivalent examination marks‐sheet (in case of bonafide NRI, the
grading  should  be  converted  to  the  equivalent  marks  as  per  mark sheet of
Gujarat Higher Secondary School Examination from the parent school / college
itself)    and the certificates of passing and attempt.
3.  Provisional eligibility certificate from Veer Narmad South Gujarat University
(where applicable).
4.  Transcript  from  the  respective  school/board/university  and  Equivalence  
Certificate   from   Association   of   Indian   Universities (where applicable i.e.
student from foreign country).
5.  Affidavit  given  by  NRI  student/parent/guardian  stating  his/her Residential
status as per Income Tax Act 1961/FEMA.
6.  Any  evidence    like  Residential  proof,  copy  of  citizenship,  salary certificate or
certificate from the employer etc. to establish the present status  as    NRI  on 
whom  the  student  is  dependent  for  educational purpose.
7.  Affidavit given by concerned NRI proposing to undertake responsibility  for
paying tuition fees / medical education of student.
8.  Affidavit (on non‐judicial stamp paper of Rs.  100,  attested  before executive
magistrate or government notary) along with supportive documents given by
either  of  parents/grandparents    of  student    or  student    he/she  is major
regarding relationship with the NRI, and in what manner the student claims to
be dependent on NRI, who is to take responsibility for paying tuition fees of 
student  and  they  do  not  have  economic  means  to  provide  the necessary
fees and other expenditure for the course.
9.  Affidavit along with supportive documents by the NRI/ Parent/Student that NRI
sponsor has been supporting the said student in the past for educational and
related matters.
10.  Attested copy of the nationality and citizenship of NRI parents/NRI student/ NRI
Guardian and copies of documents and all the pages of passport (including blank
pages) showing his/her status as NRI.
11.  Medical certificate of fitness as per requirement of the Council.
12.  Indemnity Bond by parent/ Guardian as applicable.
