AAGAAZ - The Street Play Competition -Mood Indigo 2010
ELIMINATIONS:
Eliminations will take place prior to Mood Indigo at 3 cities: Ahmedabad, Delhi
1. Ahmedabad-
· Venue: Himalaya Mall, Inderprastha Appartment,
Drive-in Road
, Ahmedabad.
· Date: 23rd October 2010
2. Delhi-
· Venue: Dilli Haat
· Date: 30th/31st October 2010
3. Mumbai-
· Tentative Date: First week of December
· Exact Date and Venue to be disclosed later
Time Duration: 15-20 minutes
Team Size: 6-10 + 2 CAs (optional)
Language of performance must be Hindi/English or both. No other language is allowed.
All the participating teams must submit a short synopsis of their scripts atleast five days prior to the elimination performances.
The top 3 teams from each city will qualify for the finals of the Competition to be held at Mood Indigo 2010 during the 20th-23rd December.
FINALS:
Time Duration: 15-20 minutes
Team Size: 6-10 +2 CAs (optional)
Finalists will have to perform the same Street Play as they did in the eliminations.
RULES:
· Plays can be based on any theme but since the eliminations are being held at public venues, any content directed against a certain political group or religious community is strictly prohibited.
· All the participating teams will have to submit a short synopsis of their scripts atleast five days prior to the elimination performances.
· Teams are expected to perform at an open air venue, on a circular stage with audience on all sides.
· Only live music is allowed. During eliminations, teams will have to bring their own instruments. During the finals, a Congo
· Musical accompanists will be counted as CAs, however if the TEAM SIZE is less than 10, then more accompanists can be accommodated maintaining a minimum of 6 actors in the play.
· The CAs should not enter the performance circle at any point of time during the play.
· The time limit should be adhered to. In case of violation, participants will be penalized by judges.
· Obscenity (at the discretion of the judges) of any kind is not allowed and will lead to immediate disqualification.
· The decision of the judges will be final and binding.
· JUDGING CRITERIA: Dramatisation, screenplay, script, crowd interaction and overall impact.
